I’m sure you were all rooting for me but…I lost. In a major way. As in, no one voted for my chili. Except me.
Yeah, it was a bit embarrassing, good thing few people I work with know about this little food blog! There ended up being 9 chili entries and let me tell you, that’s a lot of freaking chili to taste! They made everyone sit down and served us each chili by number so it was a blind taste test. Mine was number 5 so I was smack dab in the middle. The bad part about being in in the middle was that my chili was sort of lost in the mix. After number 3, all the chili began to run together. The worst factor, though, was that the spiciest chili was served directly before mine. This killed all of my taste buds completely and I couldn’t taste my chili at all which means no one else could taste it either.
The guy that won was very excited, I was happy that he had taken it. And the better news was that we had a large container of chili at home to eat all of super bowl weekend!
Anyone taste any good tailgating food this weekend? Do tell!
